Let’s paint a picture for you. 🖼️ You’ve captured a pretty decent segment of the local market with your amazing product. And because amazing is so hard to miss, your socials are loaded with comments from satisfied customers. Now new orders are starting to come in, but not just from your regular customers. These orders are from buyers all around the world 🌎 and it’s beyond your wildest Mom-and-Pop shop dreams. That’s the ca-ching of much-needed forex! #Yasssssss! 💶
There is so much more involved, though, in getting your product out of your factory and into the hands of customers overseas. It’s export strategy launch time. Logistics, production capacity and certification are all part of the journey to level up to export. But altogether levelling up can actually start to look like a level headache. 🥵 The reality is that levelling up is never cheap but it’s also totally worth it and to be honest it’s probably the only option when you’ve outgrown your local market. The good news is that there are grants available to help you get there.
Capacity is Key if you are considering exporting. If your challenges are more on the supply side, try accessing these awesome funds which can help you access new equipment and expand your production line.
Need help making money moves? There’s a grant for that! Logistics could be such a headache with having to ship samples and figuring out the best type of shipping for your product. But you don’t have to do it alone. There are grants that can help carry the load.
Not Certified Export Ready? There’s a grant for that, too! Whether you’re trying to export to CARICOM, Europe or the USA, most international buyers like to make sure that their manufacturers are HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) or GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) certified. But certification costs can go as high as tens of thousands of US dollars. So before you shell out your shillings, be sure to check out the grants that can help you get certified.
So, while it is true that most times you need to spend money to make money, it doesn’t always mean that you have to spend your money.
